Happy New Year!

Happy new year. I have been very bad at maintaining this site over so here is a dump of activities and updates (in no specific order):

  • Last year’s Digital Legacy Conference took place virtually from Michael Sobell Hospice and was part of the European Association of Palliative Care World Congress 2021. An array of incredible speakers took part and it was hosted by both myself and the ever eloquent Dr Ros Taylor MBE. Details can be found at Digital Legacy Conference website. We are hoping to move away from the virtual format and host it in person once again for the 2022 conference. If you, your research institute or organisation would be interested in hosting it, please get in touch
  • The poster (right) by Michael Sobell Hospice won an award at this year’s EAPC. As part of the campaign and exploration of VR, I coined the term ‘person-centred VR’
  • Tablets against Loneliness poster won an award at the NHS Leaders in Healthcare conference. A video explanation can be watched on the righthand side.
  • Despite the pandemic and the challenges it has presented I have continued to speak about planning for death in today’s digital world at a number of virtual and face to face events. Highlights include: Green Man Festival, The Palliative Care Society of Trinidad and Tobago conference, NHS Education Scotland Bereavement 2021, NHS Grampian – Palliative & End of Life Care Conference and St Vincent de Paul Society – Digital Legacy Webinar.
  • MyWishes user base and our team is growing. We were also recently featured include Good House Keeping, The Metro, The Standard, The BMJ, LifeWire and eHospice.
  • Due to current government ‘work from home’ restrictions I will not be working from Michael Sobell Hospice unless required or until the rules change.
  • There are lots of projects going on and I look forward to sharing details in the next update.

Have a wonderful winter and I look forward to providing an update in the Spring.
